Long-Billed Curlew

The long-billed curlew (Numenius americanus) is a bird in the family Scolopacidae. It is the largest shorebird, or wader, native to North America. It is also a migratory species that flies to warmer climates in the winter. As the name suggests, its long bill, curved downward, is characteristic, although more spectacular in females.
