Here would I have died infallibly, had not the strength of my arm pulled me out by my own braid, along with the horse, which I held firmly secured between my legs.
Description:
A man and the horse he is riding are dripping with water above a swamp in which they nearly drowned, both seemingly airborne due to the mere effect of the man pulling on his braid.
The caption reads in the German edition: Hier hätte ich unfehlbar umkommen müssen, wenn nicht die Stärke meines eigenen Armes mich an meinem eigenen Haarzopfe, samt dem Pferde, welches ich fest zwischen meine Knie schloß, wieder herausgezogen hätte.
