Color plate showing a patch of rocky marine ecosystem populated by various sea anemones which were classified in the genus Sagartia at the time of publication. A seashell can also be seen, on which an member of the species Calliactis parasitica is sitting. Below is the full list of featured species of sea anemones, in alphabetical order. The currently accepted name is mentioned in parentheses:
