Jeffersonia diphylla
JEFFERSONIA substantive – Botany. Genus of Berberidaceae, whose typical species is a spring plant, common in the forests of the United States from New York to Wisconsin, and named in honor of Thomas Jefferson. It is popularly known as twinleaf, because of its leaves, divided into two parts. In England, jeffersonia is sought-after for borders.
