Description
The dorcas gazelle (Gazella dorcas) is a ruminant mammal in the family Bovidae adapted to life in the desert and ranging throughout Africa, Arabia, and into Iran and northern India. It can run very fast (up to 80 km/h – 50 mph) for fairly long distances. Its main natural predators are the cheetah, the lion and the leopard.
The caption reads in the original French: Gazelle commune (Gazella dorcas).
