Hand-colored anatomical plate showing the head of a man with part of the skull cut away along two section planes: in front of the ears along the frontal plane and slightly above the tip of the nose along the transverse plane, thus exposing a cross-section of the entire brain.
The caption reads in the original French: Coupe verticale [de l’encéphale] au-devant des oreilles.
