Description

Harold, also known as Harald Harfagr, or Hårfagre (meaning Fairhair in Norwegian) lived approximately between 850 and 932 of our era, and was the first king of Norway. Here he stands next to a tree on which a crow or raven is perched and seems to be whispering to him.

This illustration was created for a poem by George Borrow and first published in Once a Week, 1862.
