Description:

Reynard is on a ladder leaning against a tree trunk that serves as the gallows, a noose around his neck. A cat sits at the top of the trunk, securing the rope to a branch while a crowd gathers below to witness the ceremony. Among them, the King and Queen look particularly moved and grief-stricken.
