Aquatint depicting a scaly dragonfish (Stomias boa boa), also known as the boa dragonfish, seen from the side and facing left. The scaly dragonfish is a member of the family Stomiidae, inhabiting oceanic waters that can exceed 3,300 ft (1000 m) in depth, and it feeds on other fish and crustaceans. A series of photophores distributed across its body allows it to emit light.
