Description
The short-eared owl (Asio flammeus) is a bird of prey in the family Strigidae. It is named from the tuft of feathers which can be seen on the head when the animal is disturbed. The short-eared owl is widespread and can be found in many parts of the world, where it feeds mostly on rodents.
