Description
Plate showing, from top to bottom, Zedochir lineatus, Tacua speciosa, and Pyrilla perpusilla (commonly known as sugarcane leaf hopper) busy around a plant bearing a small red flower. Tacua speciosa (referred to by the synonym Cicada indica) is described by the author as follows:
This is unquestionably one of the most striking and magnificent species of Cicada we are acquainted with. A single specimen of this kind was discovered in Bengal by Mr. Fichtel about four years ago. It is now deposited in the Imperial cabinet at Vienna.
