Description:

Recumbent statue of Charles the Bald dating back to the early thirteenth century. As Holy Roman Emperor, Charles the Bald was known as Charles II and reigned between 875 and 877. He is represented here in low relief, his head resting on a pillow and his feet on a lion. He holds a scepter with a fleur-de-lis in his right hand and a globe in his left hand.
