Botanical steel engraving showing subspecies of Mammillaria heyderi, namely M. heyderi subsp. gummifera, M. heyderi subsp. hemisphaerica, and M. heyderi subsp. meiacantha. M. heyderi subsp. hemisphaerica and M. heyderi var. applanata are currently considered to be synonyms. Mammillaria heyderi is a plant in the family Cactaceae, native to Mexico and the United States.
