Description:

Mount Hekla is a stratovolcano located in southern Iceland. It rises to about 5000 ft (1500 m) and is the most active volcano on the island. The name Hekla, from an Icelandic word referring to a hooded cloak, might originate in the clouds that often cover its summit.
