Description
The great grey shrike (Lanius excubitor) is a passerine bird in the family Laniidae. It can be found in the colder regions of the northern hemisphere, although it usually migrates to winter in temperate areas. It feeds on small mammals, birds, and insects. The great grey shrike has the remarkable habit of storing uneaten prey on thorns or spikes found on its territory.
